Jeanne R. Arago, BB'60, retired in 1997 and moved to Ashland, Oregon,
with her husband, Bob. She says their "new life suits us just fine."
Arthur Bandini, E'60, of River Vale, New Jersey, works for Lucent
Technologies as a member of the technical staff, which designs electronics
for automated teller machines, broadband, integrated services digital networks,
and data networking.
Raymond F. Bell, E'60, of Delmar, New York, has 1,070 miles left
to complete his hike of the Appalachian Trail. He plans to finish in 2003.
His longest one-day trek covered forty miles, on May 5, 1995. By 1991,
he had hiked to all 113 mountain summits of 4,000 feet or higher in Maine,
New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York.
George E. Stanford Jr., E'60, of Slidell, Louisiana, retired
as a physical scientist with the Navy in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. He
passed the patent bar exam and has opened his own patent business.
Frederick Strobel, BA'60, MBA'62, of Sarasota, Florida, is the
author of The Coming Class War and How to Avoid It, which is scheduled
to be published by M. E. Sharpe in August. He is the Selby professor of
economics at the New College of the University of South Florida.
David S. Roy, BA'61, of Yarmouth, Maine, retired last year after
twenty-seven years with Maryland Casualty.
Grant H. Whiteway, LC'62, UC'63, of Billerica, Massachusetts,
retired in 1997 as chief financial officer of Start to Finish Communications.
His twelfth grandchild was born in February.
George F. Mason, BA'63, of New Baden, Illinois, retired from
the civil service in 1996. Including his military service, he worked for
the federal government for thirty-two years.
Richard W. Wheeler, E'63, of Pittsford, New York, is a training
group leader in the emulsion coating and drying unit at Eastman Kodak.
He and his wife have two sons, Carl and Chris, and are the grandparents
of Maxwell Richard, born January 5.
Sue McKinley Carpenter, BB'64, of Vestal, New York, says she
and her family spent Christmas with Gail Strathdee Lewis, BHD'64, and her
family.
Leonard Freeman, LA'64, of Short Hills, New Jersey, took a sabbatical
in Ireland in 1997. He served four Church of Ireland parishes in County
Cork and wrote a novel, Brendan's Well, about a young boy in twelfth-century
Ireland.
Wilhelmina B. Kelly, BB'64, of Springfield, Illinois, ran into
former classmate Marjorie Murray Medd, BB'64, while attending the National
Conference on Charter Schools, in Washington, D.C. "We haven't seen
each other since graduation," Kelly writes. "She looks great."
James W. Melloni, MBA'64, of Somerville, Massachusetts, works
in quality and test support for the Force Protection Program Office at
Hanscom Air Force Base.

Joel S. Kummins, E'66, of Roswell, Georgia, is executive account
manager at Dow Corning in Atlanta. He heads the new-product and innovation
team.
Dick Russell, E'66, ME'68, of Burlington, Massachusetts, works
in the process department of Raytheon Engineers and Constructors in Cambridge.

R. James Copeland, BA'67, of Smithtown, New York, is controller/managing
director for UBS Securities. He and his wife, Caterine, have two children,
James and Laura.
Dagmar Finkle, BB'67, of Chatham, New Jersey, is a library media
specialist at Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights. She
and her husband, Steve, spend much of their time at the Jersey shore. Their
son, Adam, lives and works in San Francisco, and their daughter, Susan,
lives and works in Savannah, Georgia.
William Coan, MA'68, was among 150 recipients of the 1997 Milken
Family Foundation National Educator Award, an honor that carries an unrestricted
financial prize of $25,000. He is the principal of Weston (Connecticut)
High School.
Myron F. Dittmer Jr., LA'68, of Melrose, Massachusetts, is director
of validation services at Biometics in Waltham. His two daughters, Julie-Anne
(Cornell University) and Joanna (Mount Holyoke College), are working toward
their degrees. His wife,
Rosemarie Dittmer, MA'69, is an instructor at Northeastern and
has her own consulting business.
Marcia Lipper Michaelson, N'68, is director of nursing for the
New York State Psychiatric Institute and an assistant clinical professor
at Columbia University School of Nursing.
Stephen P. Sussman, BA'68, of Marietta, Georgia, has started
a financial and operating consulting company for small- and medium-sized
corporations.
David Akin, BA'69, the former fire chief of Yarmouth, Massachusetts,
retired in 1995 after thirty-one years in the fire service. In May 1997,
he was ordained a permanent deacon in the Catholic diocese of Fall River,
Massachusetts.
Donald R. MacLeod Jr., E'69, of Cohasset, Massachusetts, has
been awarded a U.S. patent as the sole inventor of a fastening system for
centrifugal fans.
Suzanne J. Tyler, BB'69, of Glenburn, Maine, has been the athletics
director at the University of Maine since 1995. She is married and has
two children, Andrew and Alexis. "Love the state of Maine and the
quality of life," she says.
