Francis X. Cavanaugh, LA'54, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, has written The Truth About the National Debt: Five Myths and One Reality, which was published in September by Harvard Business School Press. He retired from government work in 1994 after forty-two years. From 1954 to 1986, he served in the U.S. Treasury Department as an economist and as a senior career executive responsible for advice on the management of the public debt. From 1986 to 1994, he was the first executive director and chief executive officer of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board. He received the President's Award for Distinguished Federal Civilian Service from President Reagan, and was awarded the Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executive in the Senior Executive Service from Presidents Carter, Reagan, and Bush.

Bertram W. Kline, P'54, of Winthrop, Massachusetts, says, "Let's hear from some of my college friends of pharmacy school and of AZO fraternity."

Harry A. Meserve, LA'55, of Medford, Massachusetts, asks, "55FT, where are you?" Samuel Chevalier, LA'57, hosted a Northeastern reception in Hong Kong during the 1995 fall semester.

Angelo C. Sciarratta, BA'57, of Needham, Massachusetts, was elected chairman of the finance committee for the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, the oldest chartered military organization in the Western hemisphere.

Martin R. Finn, Ed'58, MEd'62, of Watertown, Massachusetts, teaches microcomputing and accounting at Watertown High School. He is in his thirty-eighth year of teaching. His youngest daughter, Amanda, is studying physical therapy at Northeastern. He has one grandson, John.

Daniel M. O'Halloran, BA'58, of Medfield, Massachusetts, is senior vice president of Anderson Nichols & Co.

Martin P. O'Sullivan, BA'58, of Cranston, Rhode Island, wonders, "When, if ever again, is the class of '58 going to have a reunion? Would like to see if we all have gray hair."

Herbert Hadad, LA'59, of Pocantico Hills, New York, a frequent contributor to N.U. Magazine, received the 1996 Creative Inspiration Award from the National Writers Union at the annual conference of the organization's Westchester/Rockland/Fairfield chapter at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Hadad is a member of the local's executive board. The citation reads: "Writer, teacher, friend. You share with us words of encouragement, vital resources, and advice that help us along the lonely path from novice to professional. Through your writing, you teach us to recognize the seemingly ordinary events in our lives as grist for our creative mills. Your professionalism and generosity of spirit lift you to a level we all emulate."

Donald A. Sandrelli, LA'59, of Arlington, Massachusetts, notes that he's still teaching at Arlington High School. He and his wife, Palma, have ten grandchildren.
