John R. Auchter, L'50, of Palmer, Massachusetts, has been in law partnership since January 1995 with Warren R. Thompson, "who permits me to work no more than thirty hours weekly. I still have two children in college."
Duncan E. Beaton Jr., BA'52, of Easton, Maine, writes, "On December 28, our oldest daughter, Debbie, presented us with our ninth grandchild. In September 1995, enjoyed my fiftieth anniversary gathering at St. Mary's Boys' High School in Lynn with classmate Norman "Goose" Gosselin. Am currently serving as chairman of the Aroostook County Finance Committee."
L. Paul Crane, E'52, of Simsbury, Connecticut, has become a global traveler for the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) since he retired as product development manager from the Dexter nonwoven division of the Dexter Company in 1992. He recently returned from an assignment in Amlai, Madhya, India, at the Orient Paper Company. He's had two assignments in Brazil for IESC and one in the Philippines with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. When not occupied with those activities, Crane says he spends time enjoying his family, gardening, traveling, and "playing golf wherever there is a tee." He and his wife, Shirley, would like to hear from old friends.
Orion E. Evans, BA'52, retired from Shelby Business Forms in Shelby, Ohio, in 1970 and bought a motor home. "Sold our house, went to live on the road. Currently live in Derry, New Hampshire," he says.
Lew Fine, BA'52, and his wife of forty-six years, Arlene, live in Park City, Utah, which Fine notes is the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. He worked thirty years in retail management in Michigan and Connecticut before moving to Park City in 1988. "We planned to retire, ski, travel, and garden," he says. "I became involved in real estate home building and am actively involved in community affairs." Fine has served as a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, as volunteer chairman of the annual Park City Art Festival, and as president of the Park City Ambassadors. He and his wife have traveled to Peru to visit their "extended family," and they enjoy spending time with the two of their other four children who live in Park City.
Joseph H. Gately, BA'52, and his wife, Eileen, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on February 16. They live in South Weymouth, Massachusetts.
Leonel E. Berthiaume, E'53, of Burlington, Massachusetts, is retired from Stone & Webster and Badger Engineering, and is "actively engaged in home projects, golfing, volunteering, traveling to Florida to visit children, and trying to stay happy!"
Franklin A. Higgins, E'53, of Warren, Pennsylvania, retired from Struthers Wells Corporation in December 1993 after working for the company for thirty-three years. He says he enjoys golf, spending time with his grandchildren, and taking occasional trips to Cape Cod. He "would like to hear from any long-forgotten friends."
George E. Trainor, E'54, and his wife, Joan, are "enjoying retirement in Williamsburg, Virginia. Much golf and spoiling of seven grandchildren after thirty-seven years in the steel business."
Joan B. Brewer, BB'55, is in Madras, Oregon, working as a physical therapist in a local hospital. "Four of five grandchildren are on the other side of the Cascades. Doing a lot of exploring and hiking in the Northwest," she says. "Any classmates out here?"
Robert D. Hawke, LA'55, retired as a Massachusetts state representative after six years. He is a Republican from Gardner.
James P. Hodgkins Jr., LA'55, of Stoneham, Massachusetts, says he's "still walking on air" after 300 Richards Hall was named the James Hodgkins Lecture Hall. He notes it's the same area where he had history classes with Dr. Ryder and the late Dr. Cutts in the 1950s.
Owen J. O'Rourke Jr., BA'55, MBA'62, of Framingham, Massachusetts, retired as director of ethics of Raytheon Company, Electronics Division, after thirty-nine years.

Herbert Abrams, L'56, of Brookline, Massachusetts, notes that "1956 was the last graduating class at the law school, then on Mount Vernon Street on Beacon Hill. Where did the forty years go?"

Angelo C. Sciarratta, BA'57, of Needham, Massachusetts, has been elected chairman of the finance committee of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts for 1996-97.
Norman R. Tessier, B'57, UC'62, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, recently completed his twentieth year of teaching at University College.
Mack C. Giovanni, E'58, of Sunnyvale, California, marked his twenty-fourth year at Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin) and thirty-seventh year in ordnance engineering.
Walter H. Rowell Jr., E'58, is director of Power Projects, Europe, in the London office of Raytheon Engineers and Constructors. He lives in Worcester Park, Surrey.
Allan B. Bixby, BA'59, has moved from Enfield, Connecticut, to Sebastian, Florida. He retired June 1 after thirty-eight years with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. He was a vice president, treasurer, and senior officer of the company. "All made possible by N.U.," he comments.
Dorothy A. Deburro, MEd'59, of Methuen, Massachusetts, retired in June 1995 after forty years as a teacher.
Thomas W. Muldoon, LA'59, MBA'81, is president of GTE Worldwide Telecommunications Services. He joined GTE in 1964 and had been vice president and general manager of GTE Services sector. Muldoon and his wife, Carol, live in North Andover, Massachusetts, where he's been active in Boys Clubs, the YMCA, and community projects. The couple have four grown children.
