George Thrush's efforts to link public interest, public policy, and design in his architecture work have been noticed: The associate architecture professor has been selected for the prestigious American Institute of Architects (AIA) Fellowship. Designation as an AIA Fellow is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a member.

Thrush is best known for his Urban Ring project, a comprehensive transportation and urban-design proposal for Boston that he developed in the 1990s. The project aims to connect the city's outer perimeter through public transportation. Recently, Thrush has worked on the redevelopment of the postindustrial urban landscape.

Ena Vazquez-Nuttall, the former associate dean of Bouvé's graduate school and a professor of counseling and applied educational psychology, was awarded a presidential citation by the American Psychological Association for her work with multicultural children, youths, and families. The citation noted Vazquez-Nuttall's "strong, enduring, positive influence promoting multiculturalism and professionalism in American psychology."
