George Thrush's efforts to link public interest,
public policy, and design in his architecture work have been noticed:
The associate architecture professor has been selected for the
prestigious American Institute of Architects (AIA) Fellowship.
Designation as an AIA Fellow is one of the highest honors that
can be bestowed upon a member.
Thrush is best known for his Urban
Ring project, a comprehensive transportation and urban-design proposal
for Boston that he developed in the 1990s. The project aims to
connect the city's outer perimeter through public transportation.
Recently, Thrush has worked on the redevelopment of the postindustrial
urban landscape.
Ena Vazquez-Nuttall, the former associate dean
of Bouvé's graduate school and a professor of counseling and applied educational psychology, was awarded a presidential citation by the American Psychological Association for her work with multicultural children, youths, and families. The citation noted Vazquez-Nuttall's "strong,
enduring, positive influence promoting multiculturalism and professionalism
in American psychology."
