Administrators hired to direct marketing,
lead business college
Northeastern has hired two new top-level administrators:
Brian Kenny, vice president for marketing and communications, and
Thomas Moore, MBA’76, dean of the College of Business Administration.
Kenny is responsible for leading communications and public relations,
conference and event planning, Northeastern University Alumni Magazine,
the Northeastern Voice, photography, publications, and web services.
He will be looking to build on the university’s already prominent
marketing and branding campaign, spearheaded by former University
Relations vice president Sandra T. King, MBA’77.
Previously, Kenny was global director of marketing for the Monitor
Group. He has also directed marketing at Genuity/Level 3 Communications
and Arthur D. Little, and headed up marketing and publications
at Boston University, and admissions and media relations at the
Franklin Institute of Boston.
Moore comes to Northeastern from Babson College, where he was vice
president of executive education and corporate programs. He replaces
Ira Weiss, who served as business dean for a decade.
In other roles at Babson, Moore for seven years was dean of the
F. W. Olin Graduate School of Business—one of the top fifty
in the country, according to U.S. News—and served as CEO
of Babson Interactive, a for-profit distance-learning company funded
by Babson.
He has also been vice president and dean of Arthur D. Little’s
School of Management, an accredited graduate school, and vice president
of Arthur D. Little International, which delivered executive education.
Earlier in his career, Moore was associate dean and, later, acting
dean at NU’s College of Business, overseeing the graduate
and undergraduate schools, professional accounting, and the Center
for Management Development.
Moore taught marketing and management courses to both graduates
and undergraduates during his years at Northeastern and Babson.
