Patrick Gaston, MBA’92, of Alexandria, Virginia, is the new president of Verizon Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Verizon Communications. Gaston has been with the company nineteen years, most recently as executive director for strategic alliances in Washington, D.C. He is also a member of the board of directors of the NAACP Board of Trustees and Generations United, the National Latino Children’s Institute, America’s Charities, the Foundation of the University of West Indies, and the World Institute on Disability.

Karyn Geary, GB’95, of Lynn, Massachusetts, is one of the first nurse practitioners in the country to pass the Advanced Practice Palliative Care Nurse examination to become board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Geary, who works at the Hospice of the North Shore in Danvers, is one of only fifty-two nurse practitioners in the United States to receive the certification.
