Helena Champion, MBA85, lives in Winchester, Massachusetts, with her son, Ian, who attends Winchester High School. She is a GMP manager for Cambridge Isotope Laboratories in Andover. I still enjoy skiing and traveling to Europe and elsewhere. This summer, I took Ian to Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK on vacation and to attend my brothers wedding. Fran Hodgkins, AS87, of Lynn, Massachusetts, received the 2000 ASPCA Henry Bergh Childrens Book Award for her first book, The Orphan Seal (Down East Books, 2000). The award recognizes books that promote the humane ethic of compassion and respect for all living things. Greg Neary, BA87, of Boston, is a logistics consultant for Answerthink. Previously, he worked twelve years for United Parcel Service in technology deployment, operations management, and industrial engineering. Kevin Sheehan, E87, and his wife, Kristen, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Catherine Clare, on April 24. They live in Brookfield, Connecticut. Jeanie (Golde) Wright, BB87, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, is hoping to be at home with my three girls and taking a break from working as an early-intervention specialist. Hoping all is well with the class of 1987. Tracy (Fisher) Benedict, E88, and her husband, Jim, welcomed a son, James Charles II, on November 9, 2000. He joins a sister, Jordan, at their home in Atlanta, Georgia. Tracy works part time as a regional operations and engineering manager for FedEx Ground. Ted Pearlman, BA88, and his wife, Pam, celebrated the birth of their first child, daughter Reece, on September 20. They live in Framingham, Massachusetts. Camille and Jim Pimentel, both AS88, live in Orange Park, Florida. Jim notes he left active duty with the Navy in 1994 and graduated with honors from the University of Florida law school in 1997. Hes now the sex crimes and child abuse prosecutor in the state attorney generals office. Hes also a lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve. Camille earned a masters degree in public administration from Old Dominion University and is a manager for talent and acquisition at the Jacksonville Electric Authority. Marlene (Shine) Fitzmaurice, AS89, and her husband, Jim, welcomed their first child, Griffin James, on August 11. He is a very good baby, and we are enjoying every minute with him, she writes. I am planning to run the Boston Marathon on April 15. I qualified by running the 2000 New York City Marathon in 3 hours, 24 minutes, making me the 171st woman overall. I hope that all my old NU friends can come and cheer me on (like the good old days on Commonwealth Ave.). The Fitzmaurices live in Mt. Kisco, New York. Tim Locascio, E89, ME96, and his wife, Stacey, welcomed their first child, Luke Timothy, on September 28. The family lives in Osterville, Massachusetts. Thomas H. Moon, BA89, of San Francisco, writes, We have two children, Robert and Monique. I cofounded FAB Logistics, an international logistics company specializing in the semiconductor industry. Dale Rhoda, AS89, and Kara Maupin were married August 4, in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. They live in Arlington, Massachusetts. Dale notes hes working hard to make air traffic safer and more efficient from his post at the Research and Special Programs Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation in Cambridge. Kara is the head of human resources at the accounting firm McGladrey and Pullen in Burlington. Dale reports he and Kara met at Park Street Church in 2000 while preparing to teach English at a summer camp in the Czech Republic. |
