In the last several years, my life has taken several unbelievable turns. I did start out with the Department of Justice at Immigration and Naturalization. However, I then decided to return to nursing school. After finishing up at New England Baptist Hospital several years ago, I am a registered nurse and am a practicing hospice nurse for Vista Care. I did a stint in prison. No, I was not incarcerated. I was actually working at MCICedar Junction as an RN. Brenda (Cuccinello) Blaney, BB90, of West Long Branch, New Jersey, notes she and her husband, Terry, have been married nine years and have two children, Michael and Nicholas. Daniel-John Aylward, UC93, is a presidential management intern and a systems analyst in the Navys strategic systems program in Washington, D.C. He received an MBA in information systems and organizational behavior from Boston University in May 2000. Michael Besancon, AS93, completed an orthopedic fellowship at Iowa State University and is starting a three-year residency in small-animal surgery at the University of California in Davis. He received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State in 1997 and did a medicine and surgery internship at South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth. Eastman, MBA96, of Barnstable, Massachusetts, writes to correct what seems to have been a case of mistaken identity. In the May 2001 edition of the alumni magazine, I was mistakenly listed as deceased, he states. I just wanted to assure everyone who read it that the news of my untimely demise is greatly exaggerated. In all fairness, it seems logical that there may have been some confusion between myself and my father, Carl W. Pete Eastman, who was a professor in the communications department, and department head in the 1980s. He passed away May 13, 2000. He retired from NU in the summer of 1998. Timothy J. Geis, E96, of Arlington, Virginia, married Stephanie Schuster on October 9, 1999. They celebrated the birth of their first child, Alexander James, born on December 26, 2000. Timothy earned a professional engineer license in Virginia in January. Thomas N. Shorter, L96, is an associate in the Madison, Wisconsin, law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP. He has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Wisconsin State Bars Young Lawyers Division. Nicholas G. Xenos, BA96, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, received a JD cum laude from Suffolk University and has been admitted to practice law in Massachusetts at age 46. It just goes to show, youre never too old to rock and roll, he says. Nicholas intends to work part time establishing a small law practice while he hopes and prays for early retirement from General Electric in Lynn.
