Arthur D. Marlin, BA'60, retired last April as president and chief
operating officer of NACMNew England, an affiliate of the National
Association of Credit Management. Before joining NACMNew England,
Marlin worked for thirty-two years for the Cabot Corporation, his first
and only co-op employer. These days, he spends most of his time in Mashpee
on Cape Cod and maintains a home in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Fred Taylor, E'60, of Southampton, Pennsylvania, invites friends
to drop him an e-mail at <ftaylor451@home.com>.
George Katsarakes and Candy Katsarakes, both E'65, of Saint
Petersburg, Florida, write, "We have been in contact with Al Goodwin
and Mike Henry, and send our regards to them and the rest of our Class
of 1965. Candy is a late bloomer and searching for the next idea to work
on, having left behind her graphic design career in New York. The latest
and greatest idea we are working on now is having a family of our own.
Obviously, there are no retirement plans for this family. By the way, we
already have two granddaughters and three godchildren paving the way. Candy
is also a student of the market, tracking its progress on the Internet
every day and assessing all the financial wizards on CNBC in the evenings.
This keeps her busy during the week, since I travel Monday to Friday each
week. I am the chief operating officer of TII Industries, a manufacturer
of lightning and other surge-protection systems for the telecom industry.
With headquarters in New York and manufacturing facilities in Puerto Rico,
the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and China, I earn lots of upgrades. I had
an article recently published in Fast Company and American Way, and heard
from quite a few friends and classmates. Candy is also a needlepoint fan,
and if anyone is into that, personal or commercial, let us know. Our warm
regards to all our classmates." Send e-mail for Candy to <Que00@aol.com>, for George to <Gkatsarakes@earthlink.net>.
Paul Cherecwich Jr., MBA'67, has joined Miller & Chevalier,
a Washington, D.C., tax firm. He previously worked at Cordant Technologies,
Unisys, and the Foxboro Company. Cherecwich is a past international president
of the Tax Executives Institute.
Michael S. Van Sickle, LA'67, of Ventura, California, is the managing
attorney for the Ventura County Superior Court. Previously, he was in private
practice for sixteen years.
Leslie Hetzel O'Connor, N'69, of South Glastonbury, Connecticut,
was recently named clinical director of psychiatry at YaleNew Haven
Psychiatric Hospital. Her new position includes an appointment as assistant
clinical professor at Yale School of Nursing. "I have been happily
married for eighteen years to Charles T. O'Connor III, who is a prominent
psychiatrist in the Hartford area," she writes. "We have three
grown children and four wonderful grandchildren."
Randy Sheahan, LA'69, and Judith (Gorman) Grice, LA'70, of
Cambridge, Massachusetts, were married October 1 -- a partnership that
was some thirty years in the making. Seems Randy proposed marriage to Judith
twice during the couple's college years, and she turned him down both times.
They went their separate ways after graduation and had lost contact with
each other until the fall of 1999, when Judith saw Randy on a promotional
tape for the television show This Old House (he was consulting on the construction
and stocking of a wine cellar). Judith called Channel 2, got Randy's e-mail
address, and the rest, as they say, is history. Among those attending the
wedding ceremony were Randy's Beanpot buddies, Paul Leahy, LA'69, Chris
Mosher, LA'70, Jim Vrabel, LA'71, and Davis Noble, Dartmouth College Class
of 1969.
