Joan Fitzgerald appointed Interim Dean of the School of Public Policy & Urban Affairs

Professor Joan Fitzgerald has assumed the post of Interim Dean of the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs. Georges Van Den Abbeele, Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities announced the appointment. Joan will lead the continued development and expansion of the Policy School.  She follows in the footsteps of Founding Dean

Joan Fitzgerald

LPP Professor Joan Fitzgerald received a travel grant from the German Marshall Fund of the United States to conduct research on climate change strategies in European cities. She will be at the University of Amsterdam for the month of May as part of a Fulbright Senior Scholar award. Ph.D. Candidate Liana Pennington was recently awarded a National Science Foundation Dissertation Improvement Grant for her doctoral research. Titled "The Role of Parents and Parens Patriae: Developing Views of Legitimacy and Justice in Juvenile Delinquency Court," Liana's project examines how parents and other family members experience the juvenile justice process and discuss issues
