All University Departments and Students are required to obtain approval from the Marketing and Communications Office before producing any products that use University's registered trademarks. Approval is required regardless of use or method of distribution. Manufacturers of commercial products bearing any Northeastern's marks, including the athletic and alumni logos, must have a license before offering these goods for sale. No product will be licensed without the approval of Marketing and Communications Department.
University departments and student organizations who wish to use Northeastern University's marks and logos on apparel (such as t-shirts, hats or golf shirts, etc.) and gift items (such as mugs, key chains, jewelry, etc.) must follow these steps:
- Fill out the licensing approval form and complete the necessary information. If this item you wish to have imprinted has a University trademark (mark, name, logo, etc.), you will need to make sure that the manufacturer you plan to use is licensed with the University. If you wish for a particular manufacturer to be approved for license, or if you have not selected a licensee and need help in this process, call or email Vanessa Salas at 617-373-5453 or V.Salas@neu.edu.
- Once the artwork and approval form is submitted online the Marketing and Communications Office will approve/disapprove your artwork and notify the printer. Please allow 3 business days for approval.
- Once notified by the Marketing Communications Office and the printer has received the signed approval form, you are free to print your item.
If you have any questions please contact Vanessa Salas at V.Salas@neu.edu or 617-373-5453.
