Mission Statement

The Office of the University Counsel is responsible for all aspects of the legal representation of Northeastern University and must be aggressive, proactive and ethical in meeting the University's legal needs. The Office centralizes and coordinates all legal services required by the University, provides legal advice and services to all senior University officials and their departments, and serves as a forum in which legal issues can be addressed and resolved, if possible, in a fair, speedy and preventative manner. The Office also participates in the creation and implementation of University policies on a wide range of matters that may have legal components to ensure consistent legal analysis and coordination of substantive decision-making.
