Active Learning in Large Classes

Educational research shows that students need to actively engage material to retain and make use of it later. However, research also shows that in some circumstances lecture is the format in which students most need information to resolve misconceptions and take their understanding to the next level. In this workshop, we will use a collection of active learning techniques to explore how sequence, activity structure, and peer-powered learning can bring the large classroom to life.
