Sofia Lingos

10.3.16 — The School of Law is pleased to welcome Sofia Lingos '09 to the top spot of our Alumni/ae Association as board president for 2016-17. “Having the opportunity to serve my school and fellow alumni/ae in this position is an incredible honor. I have worn many hats as part of the Northeastern community, and I want to share the great work taking place on campus and celebrate the successes of our dynamic graduates. I hope to ensure a seamless transition from student to alumni/ae and reconnect with other graduates.”

Lingos is also excited about the board’s plans to host a Solo and Small Firm conference in conjunction with the Office of Alumni/ae Relations on April 28, 2017, expanding upon our Hanging Your Own Shingle and grant program. The conference will provide an opportunity to bring together graduates from diverse practice areas to network, learn, and collaborate. Lingos, managing attorney with Trident Legal, developed her legal practice to provide representation to small businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure their protection and promote their growth. She also serves as the business law advisor to the new access to justice incubator Lawyers for Affordable Justice, which is a collaboration among the law schools at Northeastern, Boston College, and Boston University.

At Northeastern, she teaches Law Practice Management and Access to Justice, a course exploring the business side of law, challenging conventional law practice management by exploring methods of filling the market gap in the provision of legal services to the middle class. Sofia is an active member of numerous professional, community, and academic organizations.
