The School of Law welcomes transfer applications from students who will have completed their first year at another ABA-approved law school. There are two transfer options available:

Early Transfer - if accepted, early transfer students will begin upper level coursework when the Summer Quarter commences at the end of the May. This will allow students to utilize the Center for Co-op & Professional Advancement to prepare for and obtain a co-op for the Fall Quarter. Applicants will be notified of the Admission Committee’s decision shortly after their files are complete.

Regular Transfer - if accepted, regular transfer students will begin upper level coursework in the Fall. Applicants will be notified of the Admission Committee’s decision shortly after their files are complete, which must include second semester grades.

To apply as a transfer student, submit the following:

  • Application by deadline (March 1 for Early Transfer, June 15 for Regular Transfer)
  • $75 application fee 
  • Dean's letter of good standing
  • Resume
  • Transfer statement 
  • Current CAS report that includes LSAT score(s), one recommendation from a first-year law professor, and all required transcripts
