At How To Get It Done: Building with People Power, we will examine how people across various planes of difference come together to develop and pursue common social justice-oriented goals, and the obstacles and challenges people face when deciding to form groups, coalitions, collectives, and organizations in furtherance of collective liberation. How to Get it Done is a student-organized conference designed to connect law students and community members to share knowledge, strategize together, and develop the skills needed to take action.

At last year’s inaugural How to Get it Done: Where Legal Power Meets People Power conference, legal power met people power. This year, we are exploring how people power builds movements through relationships and the impact of relationships on a movement's success. Our programming will be guided by those with experience cultivating strong relationships in furtherance of movements, but the space we provide will be one where all can grow together in skills, knowledge, and experience. Please join us for this day of collective exploration and growth!

How To Get It Done will feature:

  • Panel discussions featuring those experienced in utilizing relationships to further a movement.
  • Small group activities designed to build an understanding of identifying common goals for coalition building.
  • Skill-share workshops focused on understanding the building blocks of a movement, different roles individuals can take on, and how they interact with each other.
  • A healing space for participants looking to decompress and tap into their inner selves.
  • And more!
