The KRI is home to the Center for Resilience Studies, whose mission is to play a leadership role in building societal resilience by learning from disasters and teaching and advancing the lessons learned.

When applied to national security, the concept of resilience involves protective, reactive, and adaptive measures. Building resilience into societies, systems, and networks reduces potential destruction and disruption, and deters adversaries by undercutting their motivation to mount attacks.

The Center will play a leadership role in building societal resilience by learning from disasters and teaching and advancing the lessons learned.
