Experiential Education and Co-op
In the study of journalism, you learn through experience. Our students graduate with resumes that give them competitive advantages in finding jobs. No university gives you better opportunities to put your skills to work than Northeastern University
Northeastern was ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report in 2003 and Princeton Review in 2008 – 2010 for programs that combine classroom learning with real-world experience. The university offers an exciting program designed to challenge students both in their academic studies and in professional settings.
The Boston area is home to one of the top media markets in the country. Many journalism students complete their co-op locally, in the great Boston area, but others choose to expand their horizons on co-op working in New York City, Los Angeles or Washington D.C. In fact, our students have worked all over the United States as well as internationally.
Recent international co-op sites include The Cape Town News in South Africa, Turner Broadcasting in London, England, Cyclomundo in the South of France, Extentia in Prune, India, and the U. S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea.
