In addition to offering a wide range of classes in a diverse array of disciplines, the Jewish Studies program offers several different directed courses of study:
- Combined Majors: In Northeastern’s Combined Majors, students take courses in two disciplines culminating in a capstone course that bridges the two fields of study. Jewish Studies offers a Combined Major in Jewish Studies and Religion and other Combined Major opportunities.
- The Jewish Studies Minor: The Jewish Studies Minor provides students with an excellent broad-based introduction to the history, religion, and cultures of the Jewish people while enabling them to major in a different area.
- Partnership with Human Services Major: Students interested in Human Services can pursue a specialization in Social Justice, Identity, and Religion within the Human Services Major. This program is well suited for those interested in careers in Jewish Communal Services.
- Independent Major in Jewish Studies: The Jewish Studies faculty is happy to work with highly motivated students who wish to propose an Independent Major in Jewish Studies. If you are interested in this option, please contact Dr. Jennifer Sartori at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss this further.
