  • Northeastern-managed computers: For Office 2010 Professional Plus, go to All Programs > Microsoft Office. For Office 2013 Professional Plus, go to All Programs > Microsoft Office 2013. Office 2013 Professional Plus is pre-installed on computers with a Fall 2014-present image. Faculty/staff on managed computers with older images can choose to upgrade through one of two methods outlined in How To: Upgrade to Office 2013 on a Northeastern-managed Windows computer.
  • Unmanaged Northeastern computers: Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus and Office 2013 Professional Plus are currently available by submitting a Locally Installed Software Request through the myHelp Service Catalog.
  • ITS-managed computer labs: For Office 2010 Professional Plus, go to All Programs > Microsoft Office. For Office 2013 Professional Plus, go to All Programs > Microsoft Office 2013.
  • Student personal computers: Direct from vendor. The Microsoft Student Advantage program allows students access to Northeastern’s Office 365 ProPlus subscription, which provides downloads of the latest version of Office (currently Office 2013). Learn more here.
  • Faculty/staff personal computers: Direct from vendor.
    • As part of your Northeastern Office 365 ProPlus license, you may download the latest version of Office (currently Office 2013) for free from Microsoft on up to five (5) computers that you personally use. Learn more about this option here. Do not install these copies of Office on computers that others use – the Office applications are tied to your Northeastern Office 365 account and have access to your Northeastern resources and files.
      • If you wish to install Office on family computers, Microsoft has a number of offerings for personal and family use.
    • If you wish to purchase a single copy of Office, go to the Microsoft Home Use Program for Office 2013 Professional Plus.
      • For the instructions on how to purchase the Home Use Program version, go to the Knowledge Base for the solution (you may need to sign in with your myNEU username and password). That link will work ONLY for faculty and staff.
