Northeastern Printing Plan

print station

The Northeastern Printing Plan annually provides a limited amount of free printing to students, faculty and staff. Each September members of the Northeastern community receive a $120 credit on their Husky Cards that can be used at various color and black & white printers across campus. The annual credit does not rollover from year to year, and when your balance hits $0.00 the printing system will default to using Husky Dollars. All jobs sent to the printing queues are available to print for 24 hours. Cost is determined on a per page basis, and varies depending on the type of printer used and the size of the paper.

Access

The $120 annual credit is automatically refreshed and made available to students, faculty and staff at the start of each academic year. Printers are located  across Northeastern’s campuses. Print jobs can be sent from an Northeastern-managed computer or from a computer that has installed the virtual printing software. Print jobs can be sent to four different print queues:

  • Black and White 8.5×11 – $0.10 per page
  • Black and White 11×17 – $0.30 per page
  • Color 8.5×11 – $0.30 per page
  • Color 11×17 – $0.75 per page

Get Started

Download and install the Virtual Print Client. To print on campus from a personal machine, you must have the Virtual Print Client installed AND you must be connected to either a wired network or NUwave (it will not work using NUwave-guest). Once a print job has been sent simply find a swipe-to-print station associated with that print queue, swipe your Husky Card at the card reader, select your file and print.

See the How To’s below to learn how to install the Virtual Print Client, and to print from your own computer or at ITS-managed labs.
