As a part of HuskyCable HDplus, HuskyCable HD, Northeastern’s cable television service, offers 60 broadcast and premium channels in high definition, including seven HBO channels. Cable television service is available in all university-owned residence halls. HuskyCable HD is also available by request in selected academic and administrative areas of the Boston campus. Cable television service is managed by ITS and provided through a partnership with Comcast.
Boston On-Campus Students
For students living in university-owned residence halls, access to HuskyCable HD is included the room rate, eliminating the need for a monthly cable bill. Service is automatically available so there is no need to sign up or register for HuskyCable HD. For access to HuskyCable HD students need a coaxial TV cable and a cable-ready television – cable boxes are not required. Residence hall rooms have cable port(s) available for connection.
Boston Students in Northeastern-Leased Properties
Students living in a leased property do not have access to HuskyCable HD, and instead receive a $100 credit from Residential Life on their tuition account the sixth week into the semester to assist with this additional cost. Summer term students receive a $50 credit the third week into the term. Contact Housing and Residential Life with any questions about the tuition credit.
Selected academic and administrative areas of the Boston campus must make a service request for access to HuskyCable HD. To get the service submit a Non-Residential Husky Cable request through the ServiceNow portal (sign-in may be required). The charge for non-residential service is $50 per month, per outlet.
Outside of Boston Students/Faculty/Staff
For academic and administrative areas outside of the main Boston campus, ITS will work with appropriate local cable TV providers for solutions.
