TV & HuskyCable

HuskyCable, Northeastern University’s cable television service, offers more than 80 broadcast and premium channels, including seven HBO channels. Cable television service is available in all university-owned residence halls and Northeastern @ The YMCA. HuskyCable is also available by request in selected academic and administrative areas of the Boston campus. Cable television service is managed by ITS and provided through a partnership with Comcast.

Boston On-Campus Students

For students living in university-owned residence halls, access to HuskyCable is included the room rate, eliminating the need for a monthly cable bill. Service is automatically available so there is no need to sign up or register for HuskyCable. For access to HuskyCable students need a coaxial TV cable and a cable-ready television – cable boxes are not required. Residence hall rooms have cable port(s) available for connection.

Boston Off-Campus Students

Please note that the CAPS program is on hold until October 2014.
Full-time undergraduate/graduate students living off-campus who are Comcast subscribers are eligible to receive an annual credit covering the period from September to August through the Comcast Advantage Program for Students (CAPS). The amount of the annual credit varies depending on the number of services you subscribe to, and currently ranges from $25-75. Only account holders are eligible for the credit. Credit request can be made through myNEU – click on the Community Tab for additional information and directions for the Comcast Advantage Program for Students (CAPS).

Boston Students in Northeastern-Leased Properties

Please note that the CAPS program is on hold until October 2014.
Students living in a leased property do not have access to HuskyCable and receive a $100 credit from Residential Life on their tuition account the sixth week into the semester to assist with this additional cost. Summer term students receive a $50 credit the third week into the term. Additionally, Comcast account holders are eligible to participate in the Comcast Advantage Program for Students (CAPS). Please speak with Housing and Residential Life with any questions about the tuition credit.

Boston Faculty/Staff

Selected academic and administrative areas of the Boston campus must make a service request for access to HuskyCable. To request the service visit the Service Catalog section of myHelp, and select Non-Residential Husky Cable from the Husky Cable Services section. The charge for non-residential service is $50 per month, per outlet.

Outside of Boston Students/Faculty/Staff

For academic and administrative areas outside of the main Boston campus, ITS will work with appropriate local cable TV providers for solutions.
