ResNet – FAQ

I can get to the NUwave wireless network in my residence hall. Why would I want to be tethered to a hard line connection?
The ResNet network is faster than NUwave, which makes it easier to use online applications, such as Blackboard. NUwave is also currently available only in certain residence halls.

I heard that wireless will be available everywhere in the residence halls, is that true?
Yes, Northeastern is working to expand the NUwave network to provide access throughout the residence halls and some open areas. This should be complete by the end of 2015.

I am connected via Ethernet cable, but I have no connection. What do I do?
Contact the ITS Service Desk at 617.373.4357 (xHELP) and press 2 for ResNet.

Does Northeastern recommend that I regularly change my password?
Yes. Passwords should be changed regularly to maintain account security.

How do I change my password?
You can change your password or challenge question by logging on to myNEU and clicking on My Profile.

I forgot my myNEU password, how do I reset it?
You can reset a forgotten password from myNEU by clicking on ‘Forgot your password?’ on the myNEU login page.
