How long are myNEU accounts active?

Students

Upon completion of graduation requirements, your access is transitioned to alumni services.

If you withdraw from the university, your myNEU account is removed one year after the time of withdrawal.

Faculty/Staff

If you leave the university, your myNEU account access is limited to HRM Benefits and Services until April 30 of the year after you leave. Your account is removed immediately if your employment is terminated.

If you retire from the university, your access is transitioned as you work through the process with Human Resources Management.

Others

Access ends based on your role.

Can I open a new myNEU account as an alum?

No. Recent alumni (graduation date 2008-present), your myNEU access transitions after graduation and you can access Northeastern’s online alumni community, Husky Nation, using your myNEU username and password. Alumni with graduation dates prior to 2008 must create a separate Husky Nation account.

When and how can I sign up for my permanent @alumni.neu.edu email forwarding account?

Three months after your graduation date, you are eligible to sign up for your permanent @alumni.neu.edu email forwarding account. It takes time for us to transfer all graduation data from the Registrar’s office to our files. Once your data is in our system, simply visit the Alumni Online Community (Husky Nation) to sign up.
