Conversation Peace
What do the United States, Kenya, and Kyrgyzstan have in common? Is the family structure of Brazil similar to that of Korea? How do notions on consensus, community, and identity compare in Sweden and Saudi Arabia? What is the most challenging aspect of living as an international student in the United States? You’ll find the answers to questions such as these through ISSI’s informal discussion group and intercultural dialogue series, “Conversation Peace.”
Conversation Peace provides a unique forum to advance cross-cultural understanding, relying upon the diverse backgrounds and experiences of its participants to foster meaningful dialogue across cultures on both traditional and contemporary themes. ISSI offers this dialogue series throughout the year to provide a safe space for discussion aimed at dispelling culturally based misperceptions while also providing a social and cultural support network for all those concerned.
Since its inception in September 2001, Conversation Peace has brought students together from more than 80 countries. Eye-opening sessions are held at overnight venues outside of Boston, so be certain to reserve your place in advance.
