Register. Attend. Participate. Enjoy.
At the beginning of each semester the ISSI conducts orientation sessions, events, and activities designed to assure you have completed all U.S. documentation requirements, to assist you with enrollment in your courses, and to provide you with information and support to ease your transition to life in the United States and at Northeastern University. At each session, you'll also have the opportunity to meet other international students, learn from shared experiences, and find any assistance you may need.
Orientation week is very important. Please make sure you register (this is required for international freshman and transfer students), attend every mandatory session, and attend as many scheduled events as you can to avoid missing other important information during your first few weeks on campus. Please review our complete orientation schedule for January 2013.
In addition to the ISSI orientation components, all new incoming international, undergraduate students MUST register for academic orientation. Register online through through your MyNEU portal. More information for registration can be found here.
New international graduate students, CPS, American Classroom and Global Pathways students are also required to attend the ISSI orientation components scheduled for your academic program. For a schedule of required sessions and other events please visit the ISSI Orientation Schedule webpage.
If you are a US citizen living abroad, you are not required to attend ISSI's mandatory Immigration Clearance Check-In session or SEVIS sessions. You are more than welcome, however, to attend other sessions and events planned by the ISSI during orientation. Please visit the Orientation Schedule to see a full listing of other sessions and events.
