Special Exchange Programs

How ISSI helps

ISSI helps to facilitate a host of international exchange programs between Northeastern and institutions of higher education abroad. ISSI advises program coordinators on campus, evaluates and processes visa documentation for incoming international students, and provides orientation and programming when students arrive.

ISSI issues Certificates of Eligibility (usually Form DS-2019) for exchange visitors, and provides orientation and employment authorization. The J visa program is administered by the U.S. Department of State, which imposes regulations in addition to applicable Homeland Security regulations.
