International Model NATOWashington, D.C.
The National Model NATO program offers students from NATO-Member countries the opportunity to come together in Washington DC as representatives of the 28 member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Students involved in the program spend five days in Washington DC, during which they represent a NATO member, meet with that government’s official embassy in Washington, and participate in academic and professional development opportunities at the conference.
Our team at IMNATO
Northeastern first received an invitation to attend the International Model NATO in 2005. While unable to attend, NU remained in contact with the organizing bodies on a development level. Our continued excellence in the MAL program resulted in a request for participation again in the 2009/2010 Academic Year. Northeastern made its commitment in February of that year to participate at the 2011 conference. NU brings on average 20 students and advisors to the program, where it fields two competitive delegations. We placed second in our first appearance at the conference.
