Description

You can create professional documents and presentations with the most-used productivity software now available for the Mac. Office for Mac 2011 is compatible with Office for Windows, so you can work on documents with virtually anyone, anywhere. Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Office for Mac 2011 includes the new Outlook for Mac with a similar look and feel to the current versions of Outlook for Windows. You will be able to access your faculty/staff Northeastern email using Outlook on a Mac in the same way that you access it on a Windows PC. Outlook for the Mac also supports the migration of account information from Entourage. (See the Get Help x4357 > E-mail (Faculty and Staff) FAQ > How to Migrate from Entourage to Outlook for Mac 2011 page.) Entourage users can continue to use this application concurrently with Outlook.

Files from Office 2008 and Office for Mac 2011 are in the same format allowing older Office files to be opened, edited and saved in the latest version – Office for Mac 2011. If you share files with colleagues who are still using 2008, they will be able to open, edit and save your Office for Mac 2011 versions. Additionally, the file types work cross-platform so a .docx will still open on a PC and an Mac in a current version of Microsoft Office.
