Tegrity is the supported lecture capture service for both on-ground and on-line learning at Northeastern. Information Services provides hands on training and ongoing support to faculty and instructors. Tegrity is available to all colleges, departments and schools. currently available on all classroom, faculty and staff computers and integrates with Blackboard. The blackboard integration makes it easy for faculty to record and upload lectures to specific courses and can be reused as needed.
Faculty: What you need to use Tegrity
- A computer with an Internet connection
- A Northeastern myNEU account (faculty and students may visit myNEU to obtain their myNEU account)
- Microphone – See the Peripheral Recommendations for Lecture Capture
- Webcam, document camera, tablet (optional)
- System Test Page – click the link to automatically check the user’s computer to assess whether the necessary requirements are present to record or view a Tegrity lecture
Classrooms that are equipped with a Windows 7, 32-bit computer have the Tegrity recorder pre-installed. Faculty and instructors can install Tegrity on and NU owned or their personal computers to record lecture in the classroom utilizing the network connection and VGA cable (for laptop connecting) available in all rooms (even classrooms without a computer). Installing Tegrity at home of in the office will enable the creation of recordings outside of the classroom that can be used as learning modules, communication, follow-up on a lecture, etc.
Tegrity is available through Blackboard and is located on the left hand menu within a course. Click on the “Tegrity Classes” button and the Tegrity environment (My Tegrity homepage) will appear displaying all courses that have recordings or, if no lectures have been recorded, a “Record a Class” button will appear to initiate the download of the recorder. Once downloaded, the recorder will open.
Student: What you need to view Tegrity Lectures

Instructors who want to use Tegrity in the classroom are encouraged to email ats@neu.edu for hands on training or attend a training session by registering on the IS Training page. Academic Technology Services has a “mock” classroom containing the equipment and configuration available in most classrooms. The mock classroom is an effective way to show how the technology works in the classroom.
