Information Services provides an initial setup service for new desktop computers, including the connection and verification of peripherals such as speakers and local printers.
Functionality/Benefits
The New Desktop Setup service provides consistent desktop equipment setups and confirmation that the computers are technically ready for use. During this setup, Information Services will setup the computer and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the initial setup. This work can be completed as an individual request, as part of a prescheduled desktop move, or within a computer refresh cycle.

Hours of Availability
Service is available during normal University business hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday. Service can be made available beyond normal business hours for specific needs on a requested basis, but may incur an additional charge.
Support
Support is provided by Information Services during Service Desk hours of 8:00am – 10:00pm Monday – Saturday, except during holidays and intersession.
Charge
Charges will vary based on the devices being setup:
- Desktop Computer with Monitor – $50
- Stand-alone Monitor – $25
- Desktop Printer – $20
- Network Printer – $50
- Scanner – $20
- Phone – $10
- Packing Material – $50 (flat fee)
- Specialized Equipment (lab, audio/visual, etc) – Custom Quoted
