Closed Captioning

Icon Business / Enterprise Applications and Services Description
Closed captioning allows faculty to add transcribed, synchronized captions to their Tegrity lecture captures for reading by their students when the recordings are played.Closed captioning also can be added to DVDs with approved copyright permissions.
Functionality/Benefits

Captioning addresses compliance issues and is beneficial to students with hearing impairment, where English is not their first language, and with learning disabilities.

Closed captioning allows viewer flexibility, especially with the increasing popularity of mobile devices where students may be in locations where access to the audio is limited. Captioning allows them to view content where audio may not be allowed, such as libraries.

Closed captioning can improve comprehension and retention for all students.
