What does this mean to me?
If you are currently administering a Departmental Network Share Drive (e.g. Q drive), or if you connect to a departmental shared folder from a Mac system, this will affect you.
What should I do if I am a Departmental Share Network Administrator?
If you currently administer a Departmental Network Share Drive (Q drive) you will be responsible for managing access to your share by adding any new users to one of the three different security groups. Complete instructions for Share Administrators are available. Please login with your myNEU username to access the instructions.
Will there be a change to how I access departmental shares after the migration?
Users currently accessing departmental shares on Windows desktop systems will continue to connect to their share with no change. The process is documented on the following page: How to Map to the Q drive in Windows.
Users currently accessing departmental shares on Mac systems will use a slightly different procedure than was used previously. For more information, see the Departmental Network Share – Mac Mapping page.
When will I know that my Department Share is being migrated?
We will be contacting you directly in the coming weeks to schedule the migration of your data. Please note that if you have access to multiple departmental shares, you will see a specific communication for each share before it is migrated.
