Structured Cable Design

Structured Cable/Cabling Design provides a means to design cabling solutions and have qualified vendors provide structured cabling infrastructure installation, moves, adds, and changes to new and existing Local Area Networks (LANs).

Facilities and other customers may request new cabling design for a construction project or other renovation. This service is to design structured cabling and then coordinate installation that meets or exceeds industry standards. LAN cabling infrastructure provided with this service enables the transport of voice, data, and video over various copper and fiber optic media.

Service is available during normal University business hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.

Support is provided by Information Services during normal University business hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday. To obtain assistance with this service, please contact the NTS Service Manager.

Charges for this service vary depending on needs of the customer and may include materials and outside labor.

An additional rate of $300 will be charged for every port installed (required for network activation).
