Faculty and Advisor Communication Tool (FACT) Updates

FACT (Faculty and Advisor Communication Tool) is used to increase the retention of students who are struggling with poor performance or attendance. These students are identified by their instructors, and communications are sent to the appropriate advisors to help the students take action.

Information Technology Services has made several improvements to FACT based on user feedback. Changes were made to FACT to streamline advisor actions and allow them to take advantage of the Appointment Calendar and Advisor Notes applications to increase communication with faculty and students. Faculty are now able to see what notes the advisor has taken on the case and understand the actions the student is planning to take towards improvement. To increase the usability of the tool for faculty, FACT has been made available from within Blackboard. Instructors are now able to see their class rosters, know whether they have any students who require FACTs, and create FACTs straight from the roster.

For any questions related to the FACT application, please contact the ITS Service Desk at help@neu.edu or x4357.
