Faculty and Staff Email System Upgrade

Early next year, Information Services will be upgrading our faculty and staff email system to Exchange 2010. Exchange 2010 brings notably significant improvements to Outlook Web Access, now called Outlook Web App, and infrastructure updates that enable it to more tightly integrate with the latest versions of Office, SharePoint and Lync.

In preparation for this upgrade, we recommend that you upgrade Microsoft Office to the latest version available for your computer (Office 2010 for Windows and Office 2011 for MacOS). In particular, in preparation for this upgrade users of Microsoft Entourage are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Outlook 2011 for Mac, as support for Entourage has been discontinued in Exchange 2010. Microsoft Office 2007 users may elect to upgrade to Office 2010 now, to position themselves to take advantage of the functionality provided by Outlook 2010.

Please stay tuned for more information about Exchange 2010, and what it means to you, as we get closer to its availability.
