Adobe CS5 is now available

Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5) is now available at the University for students, staff and faculty to use. Faculty and staff using NUnet Windows computers can now upgrade to Adobe CS5 by clicking on Start – Programs – Design and CAD – Adobe – CS5. Then, select the application you need.

Mac users who are not on NUnet managed computers can download CS5 on campus from the shared folder on macapps1.neu.edu. See MacApps on NUnet (PDF) and Download Adobe CS5 from MacApps (PDF) for more information. Adobe CS5 is also available on NUnet computers in all IS managed computer labs.

CS5 includes Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design and Dreamweaver.

Some of the highlights of what is new in CS5 for some of the more popular Adobe applications that were not available in earlier versions of the Creative Suite applications include:

  • Photoshop: Content-aware fill, truer edge selection technology, selection & mask refinement tools and bristle tips.
  • In-Design: Dragging & dropping, anchored objects and new panels (e.g. media panel, animation panel, object states panel, preview panel), MP3 audio import.
