The newest version of Mathematica, version 8, is now available!
One of the major changes with Mathematica 8 is that students, faculty and staff no longer have to download the software through myApps on myNEU. The software will be available directly though Wolfram for both personal computers and non-NUnet Northeastern computers. You will need to create a Wolfram ID using your Northeastern e-mail, which will enable you to access Mathematica for downloads and codes. (Note: this is separate from your myNEU account and will only be used for Mathematica). Please see the Mathematica Software page on this website for more specific instructions on how to access Mathematica.
Mathematica is a computing application used in engineering, mathematics, finance, physics, chemistry, biology, and a wide range of other fields. Mathematica is ideal for course lecture slideshows, student exploratory projects to support a text, faculty or student computations and visualizations related to research, creating full research papers, and any project where you want to visualize scientific information. Mathematica is available on the following platforms: Windows, Mac, and Linux. Check the Mathematica website for more information.
