Beginning on November 22nd, Office 2010 will become available for use on all Windows-based Northeastern computers. Office 2010 is the latest version of Microsoft Office for the Windows operating system, and provides many new features. Office 2010 will come standard with the Windows 7 NUnet image on Dell PCs ordered after November 22nd.
In addition, Office 2010 will run on your existing Windows XP computer. Because files in Office 2007 and 2010 are in the same format, your 2007 files can be opened, edited and saved in 2010. If you share files with colleagues who are still using 2007, they will be able to open, edit and save your 2010 versions. For Windows XP NUnet users, an upgrade to Office 2010 for Windows will be available in Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Add Programs.
IS Training has added workshops on the New Features of Office 2010 to their training schedule. You can see when classes are scheduled and register for one by visiting the ISCS Training Registration website.

A release of Office 2011 for MacOS X is planned for the near future. There will also be an option to purchase Office 2010 for your home computer at a reduced University rate for University Work at Home.
