ITS Training Spotlight – Spring 2014

January is starting off with lots of popular software classes including Microsoft Excel and Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator! A new class we are now featuring is Ten Web Technologies You Should Be Using, which highlights some online sites that will help you work better. Truth be told, the list is more like 20. Also don’t forget to take advantage of the thousands of free online courses from Lynda.com. All active students, staff and faculty can access the site anytime from either myNEU or directly at lynda.neu.edu. There are already over 7,000 users on campus!

Beginning with our February classes, ITS Training will be implementing a new course registration system using GoSignMeUp. It’s a cloud-based application, which is a great improvement over our existing system. Coming soon on the Training home page there will be one link to sign up for January classes and another for February using GoSignMeUp. In February, there will just be a single link for all classes going forward.

We gladly handle requests for particular classes, existing or custom, for any student, staff or faculty group. If you have any questions or would like to request a class, feel free to contact us directly at training@neu.edu or  617.373.5858.

For faculty members Academic Technology Services (ATS) offers workshops and seminars that are focused on teaching technologies such as Blackboard and Tegrity.
