What is different?
iOS 7 includes new features and a different look and feel. Updates include a new control center, an improved notification center, more camera options, and smarter multitasking. For a full list of all that iOS 7 has to offer, click

5 things to do before installing iOS 7
CNET has a great overview of the five steps you should take before updating: check device compatibility, delete unused apps, update installed apps, back up your phone’s information and make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes.

Potential issues
Apple is reporting that some customers are having difficulty when trying to update. Incidents include:

  • Receiving a message that the download has failed when trying to update;
  • Receiving a message that the update is not available; and
  • Incredibly slow download times.

ITS recommends that you connect to wifi (such as NUwave) to upgrade rather than using your cellular network. As with any new software release, there will likely be issues identified and addressed by Apple over the coming weeks. It is always a good idea to weigh being an early adopter of a new technology with the risk inherent in any software upgrade.
