New software available to the Northeastern community

Since last May, both new and the latest versions of software are now available in ITS managed labs:

Mathematica 9
The latest version of the computation software program boasts lots of new features, as outlined in this ITS blog post.

  • PC – NUnet: Statistical and Computational
  • Mac – All ITS managed lab machines. Faculty and Staff use Self-Service for access

ChemOfficePro 13 Suite on PC/ChemBio Draw on Mac
Previously called ChemBioViz, the latest version of the software suite is called ChemOfficePro 13. The PC version includes ChemBioDraw, ChemBio3D and ChemBioFinder. The Mac version includes ChemBioDraw. More details about the different applications can be found on the PerkinElmer site.

File Maker Pro 12
The latest database management software is now available with many new featuresLearn more about the software. Additionally, has three tutorials to help get you started and offers advance tips and tricks.

  • PC – NUnet Folder: Database
  • Mac – Faculty and Staff use Self-Service for access

CES Edupack 2013
The current version, which is a resource for engineering and scientific teaching materials, is now available in all the labs.

  • PC only – NUnet Folder: Department Applications/Engineering

Wacom Bamboo drivers
Pressure-sensitive pens and tablets that work with imaging software like Adobe® Photoshop® are now available. Additionally, has a tutorial to help get you started. Need to switch from right-handed to left-handed? Here’s how. (Log in with your myNEU username and password).

  • The software is available on all DMC Macs and PCs.
  • The tablets may be checked-out from the Help & Information desk on the first floor of Snell Library.
