Information Services has completed its emergency repair work to the University’s data center in Boston.  All services have been restored and are back to normal.

We are experiencing issues with log in to myNEU services including HuskyMail and Blackboard. We are in the process of troubleshooting and powering up services.

Services are being powered down.  Minor issue with email has been resolved.  myNEU Portal links are up.

From Friday, August 16, 2013 at 5 p.m. EDT to Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 5 a.m. EDT Information Technology Services and Facilities will perform emergency electrical work to the university’s data center in Boston. A fault in critical electrical power infrastructure that supports our data center must be repaired as soon as possible to ensure the availability of ongoing services. Delaying these critical repairs would impose greater risk to the university, and we appreciate your patience during this emergency outage.

Many Northeastern University computer services will not be available during the outage. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • myNEU Portal – during the outage a webpage with key service links will be available instead, including links to course registration and search functions via Self-Service Banner
  • All account management services, including password changes/resets, and account claim activities for faculty/staff/alumni/sponsored accounts
  • Departmental (Q) drives
  • All NUnet applications

The following services will be available. Click the link for direct access as access through myNEU will not be possible.

  • Most Husky Card and Credit Card transactions
  • Access to spaces that require Husky Cards for entry
  • All networks – NUnet, NUwave, ResNet and Internet access
  • Outlook Faculty/Staff email
  • HuskyMail
  • Northeastern Blackboard
  • NU Online Blackboard
  • The main Northeastern website  (please note that links to sites impacted by the outage will not be available)
  • myHelp Incident tracking system
  • Self-Service Banner – including course registration and search functions
  • Information Technology Services Computer Labs – only locally installed applications may be available
  • Other infrastructure services – Load balancers, DNS and NUNET domain controllers will be available
  • All servers hosted in the Information Technology Services hosting area (40 Richards)
