Latest version of Mathematica released to the Northeastern community

Mathematica 9, a computational software program used for calculations, modeling, and research, is now accessible to Northeastern students, faculty and staff. The new version boasts many enhancements including social network analysis, 3D volumetric and out-of-core image processing and System wide support for units. Wolfram details the updates in this video.

Additionally there have been key performance and quality improvements in Mathematica 9.0.1 include:

  • All Featured Examples are now available in-product
  • Improved the stability of the Suggestions Bar
  • Suggestions Bar offers more accurate suggestions
  • Improved performance and stability for image processing functions, extending coverage for Image3D
  • Installation workflow and stability improvements for Linux configurations
  • Increased the performance and robustness of many Random Processes functions
  • Various Input Assistant improvements: full support for Linux platforms, better support for dual monitors, better option placeholders, and eliminated repeated options
