Mac OSX 10.8.1 Mountain Lion is now available for NUnet lab, faculty, and staff computers. Information Technology Services has worked over the past few months testing Northeastern’s supported applications on this new operating system, and creating an image for NUnet-managed Macs.
Mountain Lion continues the integration of features found in iOS into OS X for the Mac, including Messages replacing iChat, and the introduction of iOS features like Notes, Notification Center, Reminders, Share Sheets, AirPlay Mirroring and Game Center. Support for iCloud has been enhanced and expanded, and a new security feature called Gatekeeper allows you to control the kind of applications your Mac can run.
To get Mountain Lion on your NUnet faculty or staff Mac, please contact the ITS Service Desk at x4357 or at email@example.com. Mountain Lion is also available for Northeastern faculty and staff on their non NUNET-managed Macs by contacting the ITS Service Desk.
