Dr. Aoun’s inauguration will be the centerpiece for a weeklong series of events celebrating Northeastern’s excellence and distinctiveness in experiential education, global and urban outreach, fundamental and translational research, and the arts, culture, and aesthetics.

The inauguration of Dr. Joseph E. Aoun as Northeastern’s seventh president is an occasion for illuminating Northeastern University: celebrating its past, present, and future. We will highlight areas of excellence, distinctiveness, and innovation within the four areas of special focus.

These themes, which are based upon Northeastern’s unique strengths in cooperative education, interdisciplinary scholarship, and urban and regional partnerships, will be brought to life—and to light—during inauguration week.

You will find the themes represented through a broad range of events and activities, and by the campus itself. We will illuminate Northeastern, both literally and figuratively, with lights, banners, and other exciting displays.
