Road Trip to the White House

Jordan Clark, Tiffany Malcolm, and Tricia Howell are more than friends and fellow seniors; they're also Obama supporters. And driven ones, too. Literally.
The trio made the ten-hour car trek from Boston to D.C. to celebrate Barack Obama's presidential inauguration in person—overnight camp-out on the Mall included.
Three weeks—and a few much-needed naps—later, the group presented their personal snapshots and anecdotal accounts at "Yes We Did: Student Experiences at Obama's Inauguration." The event, hosted by the Department of African American Studies, fell on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the NAACP.

Clark recounts, "The inauguration experience for me was a once-in-a-lifetime event. It's hard to put into words how I felt standing amongst the other millions of Americans who were ready for change and were excited to see a politician who made people believe again. It was truly an experience that I will never forget."
