Abstract: One of the exciting questions from Grothendieck's "Esquisse d'un Programme" is to give a geometric-combinatorial description of the absolute Galois group of the rationals by using its action on geometric fundamental groups. My talk will be about that question, in particular discussing a solution of the so called Ihara/Oda-Matsumoto Conjecture. |
