Ready, set, pitch! On June 12, 18 ventures from IDEA made their case in front of a room of investors and entrepreneurs in hopes to gain funding to accelerate their businesses.
IDEA hosted Pitchathon - a semiannual event giving ventures the opportunity to pitch to a room of investors - at MassChallenge, a change from the Northeastern University setting. The location gave the event a true entrepreneurial vibe, which proved to be an immense success. More than 180 investors and stakeholders in the Boston area attended, the largest turnout for Pitchathon in IDEA’s history. Each startup was given five minutes to present their business to the audience and propose a need for funding.
“Holding Pitchathon at MassChallenge highlighted our dedication to Boston’s entrepreneurial community, bringing together investors and entrepreneurs for an evening of innovation,” said Max Kaye, IDEA’s newly appointed CEO. “I was truly impressed with the quality of the pitches, the level of salesmanship, showmanship and professionalism all our ventures brought to the table.”
